About us / Husband + wife / Central Coast

A family business
built to make people feel seen.

We’re Kate and Brandon Nelson. We raise three kids, run VRTU side by side, and help people put words and images around what they have poured their lives into.

Life partners. Creative partners. Best friends.
How VRTU became ours

He saw the feeling.
She built the way forward.

Brandon had the filmmaker’s eye: the instinct to spot emotion in a moment and capture it before it disappeared. Kate had spent years building a career in marketing and technology, connecting ideas to audiences and turning ambitious plans into systems that worked.

When Kate left the security of that career to join Brandon, the decision made very little sense on paper. Within their first month working together, they signed a handful of incredible clients. More importantly, they found the kind of company they wanted to build: close, curious, creative, and deeply invested in the people on the other side of the camera.

Kate Nelson / Strategy + Marketing

The wingwoman
with a plan.

Kate asks the second question. She listens for the detail someone almost skips, then turns it into positioning, content, and marketing that helps other people understand why the business matters.

What our family has taught us
“Being seen is not only about sight. It is about being known.”

When our daughter Millie was born blind, our understanding of being seen changed forever. Our family learned that feeling seen begins when someone slows down, listens carefully, and takes the time to understand you.

That lesson now sits at the heart of VRTU. We want every person who trusts us with a story to leave knowing that who they are matters. Our work is rooted in faith, courage, creativity, and love, and in the belief that meaningful growth does not require a business to lose the humanity that made it special.

Why family-owned businesses

We know what
the work carries.

Family businesses carry more than a product or service. They carry a name, a livelihood, a future, and a story someone chose to keep going.

We do not want to simply operate in our community. We want VRTU to belong to it: one family helping another family show people what they have built and why it matters.

Bring us the story only you can tell.

Let’s make people
feel something.
